Yesterday we traveled to Macedonia and explored some cities there, and I had never seen anything so beautiful, and standing on that beach hidden by a cliffside monastery was the most at peace I’d ever been. However, it got me thinking about the dynamics of the group I’m with. Just like high-school there are cliques, and if you’re not in one then you’re alone or you’re faking yourself trying to be in one. So standing there on that beach I just started crying, because even on an intentionally Christ centered leap of faith as this trip is, all of us me included cannot leave the normalities of the world behind. On the surface this team is a dream, there are so many different strengths and the weaknesses are not frowned upon instead they are challenged and seen as growth. The Holy Spirit is so strong in these people it is truly inspiring, to watch each one separately and see their impact, and then the impact of us as a group is breathtaking, but it makes the things of the World stand out a lot more. So as we’re entering the last week of our first month, I’m praying that the light I see in everyone isn’t dimmed by small things like stupid high-school cliques and lack of connections!
On a paise worthy note, I was set free from some chains week ago, and I was released from a demon I didn’t know was controlling my life, and now I see the world around me with such light instead of constant apathy! So praise the Lord for the work He is already doing only 4 weeks in!😁
As I reflect on my recent mission trip, I can’t help but feel a deep sense of gratitude for the incredible encounters with God that shaped my journey. Each day unfolded like a beautiful tapestry, woven with threads of faith and purpose, leading me to moments of profound spiritual growth.
In the heart of our work, amidst the laughter and challenges, I found myself continually reminded of the power of community. The connections we forged with each other and the people we served were a testament to the love that binds us all. It was during these intimate encounters that I truly felt God's presence—quiet yet powerful, guiding us in ways that only He can.
I remember one particular afternoon, as we gathered with local families, the sun casting its golden rays upon us, illuminating not just our surroundings but igniting a spark within our hearts. We shared stories, laughter, and even tears, creating a sacred space where faith thrived. It was here that I realized our mission trip was not merely about service; it was about being vessels of God’s love, learning to see the world through His eyes.
Each experience was a stepping stone in my faith journey, prompting me to reflect, grow, and embrace the beauty of surrender. I learned that spiritual growth often comes in the unlikeliest of moments, where the simple act of being present can lead to life-changing revelations.
As I return home, I carry with me the lessons learned and the people met along the way. My heart is fuller, my faith stronger, and my spirit eager to continue this journey of discovery. I am reminded that our mission extends beyond the trip itself; it’s an ongoing adventure filled with opportunities to encounter God in the everyday moments of life.
May we always be open to these divine encounters, seeking to grow in faith and love, and sharing the light we’ve received with the world around us.
